Hey all, I am making this thread since I know ALOT of people are getting gipped, promise of a pickup date and failed to get them. So please keep all these kind of posts within this thread for now and post your experiance and troubles here to give everyone a heads up or just a place to rant at if you were one of those who did not get your 360 as promised.
(Also sorry to those of you who didnt get one when you were supposed to)
I called Walmart at 2:30 PM and asked about their 12:00 AM release of the xbox 360. They said they received 150 xbox 360's and I asked if there was anyone in line. They said no, there wasnt anyone waiting yet. I drove up there at 6:00 PM, still no one outside, so I figured I'd go home and relax until 7:00, beacause 150 people wont come to Walmart in one hour. At 7:00 I go in, and decide im goign to the service desk to ask if they were handing out tickets or anything like that, and if they started handing out tickets at 10:00 PM like they were supposed to. The service cleric said "Im sorry, we only got 16 xbox 360's in and we sold them all already. Sorry."
So screw Walmart...they lied to me on the phone, and gave out tickets way before they were supposed to. Thanks a lot *******s.
I called Bestbuy and they said they open at 8:AM tommorw (its about 7:30 PM now) and there are over 50 people waiting outside already....damn if only my parents let me skip school I would have been waiting outside since yesterday to get mine...
Well, any suggestions? Im trying to call around odd places that people wouldnt think of like Babys R Us to see if theyre getting xbox 360s (hey the got PS2s when they launched...)
ANY SUGGESTIONS??????? IM GOING TO GO NUTS IF I HAVE TO LOOK AT MY 3 XBOX 360 GAMES SITTING THERE WITH NO SYSTEM TO PLAY THEM

yeah its raining here..I thought that would discourage ppl from waiting in line, so when I got to Walmart there was no line. I was so happy until I walked in and they said they already sold out [and didnt follow the #%#$ing rules] so I was ready to scream F#$%$ at the top of my lungs....DAMN I HATE WALMART NOW
bestbuy already has 5 people waiting for the xbox 360, i cannot join them because my parrents are sleeping, and im just SCREWED.

Ok so right after school I go to Wal Mart and join the Xbox360 line. Yay im in line and Bam, im 11th. Not bad, cant imagine them getting less than 11 premiums right? Well i wait for a good 4 hours...the line grow...about 70 people are in it now. Im 11th yay going to get one!
Than a manager and two police officers come out.
"Attention folks, I need you all to be quiet so everyone can hear, even way in the back. We have only received two units, and they are both the core packages, not the ones with the wireless controller. I can promise the first two people in line that they will get them and everyone else im sorry. Our shipment is late and didnt make it in tonight, and we are hoping that they will arrive tomorrow before noon. We were supposed to get around 20 consoles, 12 premium. (I WAS THE 11TH PERSON IN LINE!!!!!) But only two came in and they are the core packages. Im sorry to everyone else and you will just have to come back when they get in."
So I get all angry and am like "Well can we get our tickets that we've waited in line for and pick up the systems when they arrive tomorrow? Sort of let us reserve the units that we have rightfully waited for and should be given?"
"No I cant do that, its going to be first come first serve."
"How did your WalMart only get 2 units, while the one downtown got 40 in, all tonight?"
"I do not know it was a Microsoft issue, not a Wal Mart issue...(They both are supercenters, guys)"
SOOOO I go all around town looking for places that will have midnight launches, cant find one. Best buy received 54-90 consoles...open at 9:30, selling in bundles, cheapest at 700 buckaroos (Garbage, i want to pick what i want to get), Toys R Us gets 12 in, 4 already preordered(max amount of preorders they are able to do) @ 10:00 am...Circuit City opens at 10, they also get 12. And than Target, ah, Target...they apparently shall be getting a Huge shipment, a "truck full" and will be open at 8:00...Shipment had not yet come in yet, as it is not safe to have them in or some crap, so they come in the middle of the night.
So basically now I'm going to be at Target at 6:00 am waiting outside praying desperately that i can get my hands on an xbox360.

You guys are making a big deal over the 360 just go get one tommorow, it's not like all of hell will freeze over JUST cause' you didn't get one (Unless you live in a big city LA, NY, Mohavi desert) My mom's going to wait in front of Costco at 9:30 till 10:00 when it opens to get me a copy (With 3 GAMES!) But I've got school which is a bummer, I'll try to convince dad to pick me up at 11:00 so I can play my 360 all day long.
My moms gonna go for one, but even if she gets it what do i care...i cant play it until dec 25th lol

Anyone who waits in line is a moron, just PRE-ORDER THE DAMN THING!! It's only $50 to pre-order one. Maybe you'll learn your lesson this time and pre-order the 3rd xbox.
I hate those types of people too... Camping for anything is just stupid... For a movie, for a game console, whatever... You'll get one on the real release date, January 1st... Think of this as the limited BETA release...Zitat:

me if i really wanted one i could walk into any of the gamestop stores and get one bc i know the guys. they would pretend that i had it all paid for and just sell it to me there when it is time if i called.

Sorry if this belongs else where. But I just came home empty handed.
Along with the rest of the 100+ people there.
People were idiotic and were pushing people, practically rioting.
The cops were called in, and they shut it down. They canceled it for the midnight launch.
It was a mob practically.
They said that in the morning, the manager would have a meeting and figure out how to organize it better.
It was the most unorganized POS ever. They waited until 10 30 before even telling us that there were only 48 360's. Most people have been waiting out there for atleast 4 hours before. It was raining and was very cold as well. I waited out there for 4 hours and they didn't designate ANY spot until they were going to tell us what to do to get a voucher. Once the retarded woman told us where to go, EVERYONE ran to get first in line, people were pushed down, thrown, hit... It was total chaos. So they decided to cancel it and sell them at a later time/date.
I'm pissed, not only at Wal-Mart, but mainly at the retarded people who had to ruin it for people like me who took everything calmly. There were plenty of people who were calm about it until people started pushing and shoving.
Just makes me sad to see what people would do (that they were recently talking to just fine) to get just a console.
Bring on the cold tomorrow... -_-

Left out a few details pertaining to this update.
The tickets were originally supposed to be given out at 11 15 at register 22.
After the crowd started to basically do a "every man for themselves" deal, the cops had to shut it down.
They told everyone to go home, not everyone did.
About half the crowd lined up at registere 22 anyways. The cops came in and told them that they will not be selling them tonite, and for everyone to go home. There would be a meeting in the morning to figure out how to organize it and that they will sell it at a later time or date.
So atleast 97% of the people went home.
I call them today, and ask them if they have figured out when they will be re-selling them again. The woman told me that they had already sold out of the XBox 360's. I'm like how are they sold out? She told me that they waited a little bit past 12 AM and then sold them to the people who stuck around.
Talk about major BS, what else were we to do if the cops told us to go home?
Is there anyone I can complain to or file some sort of complaint? Or am I just practically screwed royally?
i wanted to know if i can get one on release date without a preorder because my parents wants to buy one around the 22-26th but i didnt pre order :mad: but there is a CAN superstore that sells XBOX 360s and i think there arent many people who are going to superstore for XBOXs, mainly BESTBUY and FUTURESHOP
Well alright, here's my story. So me and two of my friends are ready for a midnight release. My friend has a pre-order for a first shipment, premium package 360. I meet my friend at his house and my dad comes to pick us up and then we drive to our friends house who has the pre-order. Our plan is to head up on the midnight release, wait in line, get a 360 and play it all night, even though its my friend's pre-order, I'm paying for it and I get to keep it. So we're heading up there. We get there around 11:45. We're walking up towards the Gamestop and the guy immediately says "If you all don't have a pre-order, we're not selling 360's." Well gee man, thanks for that. Anyways, we show him our reciept, my friend gives him his name/email address/etc. He quickly scans the list, turns out his name isn't on it. Honestly folks, we were stunned. My friend pre-ordered this on JUNE 6th 2005. He was told his would be a first shipment and they would call him. They called him the morning of the 21st, emailed him, and told him to come pick it up. We asked him to check the computer, he comes back and says he's not in for a midnight release, he says that he's getting some in tommorow and we'd have to come back then to see. Honestly folks, I have never been more pissed off in my entire life. My friend was promised a midnight release of a first shipment. We basically got jipped on the highest level. This is a time where I KNOW that they played favorites. Even my dad was pissed off that we didn't get one. My dad even told us to call them and see how many people had placed pre-orders before us. Anyways I'm writting this in and uber-pissed state so tommorow my head will be clearer and I'll have calmed down a bit if I manage to get my 360.

Well me and my friends were completely psyched out of our minds to get one when were told we would get one. I can't even guarantee we're getting one tommorow. The wait may be just as long for me as it is for you.
Well, I think you should consider yourself lucky... If you take 100% of the folks that want a 360, only about 2% of them will get one today and tomarrow...Zitat:
